Toys for Children of Tennessee Soldiers
For the 5th year Nashville Republican Women collected toys for the children of Tennessee Soldiers. The toys were presented at the December luncheon. A big “thank you” to those who brought toys or contributed gift cards to the children of our Tennessee soldiers. The toy drive was a huge success! Below is a note from Paige expressing appreciation for our efforts.
Amy,
I just wanted to tell you thank you for the wonderful donations. I have sent all the gifts out to the families as of yesterday. We appreciate all the time you all took preparing the luncheon and the gifts. There are going to be hundreds of smiles on Christmas morning thanks to you all. It was great working with you on the project.
Thanks,
Paige Major

Support our Troops throughout the year. Since before the United States entered World War II, the USO (United Service Organizations) has been the bridge between the American public and the U.S. military. In times of peace and war, the USO has consistently delivered its special brand of comfort, morale and recreational services to the military. The USO, a congressionally chartered, private, nonprofit organization, relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations to support USO activities.

The Nashville Republican Women paid tribute to our veterans by delivering hundreds of books and recent magazines to the Veterans Hospital in Nashville on November 11, 2009. Delivering the items was a fun and satisfying event.
A big round of applause to all those who donated books and magazines and to Amy’s crew for sorting, labeling and delivering the items.
