\u00a0Johnny Ellis<\/strong><\/h4>\n
Johnny Ellis, was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, attending Woodmont & Head Elementary Schools, Washington and West End Jr. High and Graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1980.
After Graduation From the University of Tennessee Knoxville, he went to work for United Companies Mortgage Corporation in their loan department. In 1990 he returned to Nashville to act as a Branch Manager for United Companies in Murfreesboro, TN. In 1992 he was awarded the first Full Tuition scholarship from the Nashville School of Law, and Passed the Bar Exam in 1996. He began practicing law with his father, Lee Ellis, III in 1997, becoming the 5th generation of his family to practice law in Nashville, dating back to 1858.
In 1996 he was the Chief Manager of HomeOwner’s Title & Escrow, LLC performing real estate closings and escrow services. After having closed over 7,000 real estate transactions he is proficient in all manner of real estate issues. In 2002 the Title company wound up business and Mr. Ellis began to focus on real estate litigation matters.
In 2006 he won the 8th largest jury verdict awarded in Davidson County that year for a wrongful foreclosure in the matter of Filson, vs. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Inc. In 2007 he won the Adverse Possession case in the Court of Appeals in the matter of Amos vs. Taylor, et al. involving acreage in Williamson County, TN. In 2008 he and co-counsel John R. Miles won the Court of Appeals case of Ridley vs. Watson involving a partition suit between co-tenants in common. In 2010, Mr. Ellis won a case of Trademark infringement in the Matter of Cinco DeMayo, Inc. vs. Cinco DeMayo, #5, Inc. In June 2016, he argued Bryant v. Bryant before the Tennessee Supreme Court on the real property issue of joint tenants with right of survivorship”. (Prevailing), and testified before the State Legislature on real property issues later that year.
When Lee Ellis III retired in 2012, Johnny Ellis moved his practice exclusively to Old Hickory, TN. and focuses on real estate, probate, family law, small corporations, contracts, and business associations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
